Gun Show

I went to the tallahasse gun show today. Now i have been to a lot of gun shows. North carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and here In Florida. This one was the .most active I have ever been to.

The sheriff's department was there giving concealed weapons classes and doing fingerprints and background checks even your passport photo. People were lined up around the building waiting. Lots were women and minorities

People were In lines around the gun tables filling out paperwork. I got there early and while I was there I saw the inventory disappearing rapidly. People were buying guns by the twos and threes. I bought me a stoeger 12 ga coach gun. Thinking about using it while camping in grizzly country and I just might try that cowboy action shooting. Looks like fun. I always liked.black powder. Anyway back to the point. Talking to the guy I bought the gun from he said he usually has 1200 guns at one of the shows. He was down to 350 when I left.

People have gone crazy. It's worse than the Obama days.

Gee I wonder why people want self protection prompted by the riots I am totally sure of which scare's people to death. I heard the people who want common sense(code for outlawing many types of guns) now arent so sure when their live's could be on the line. I just hope if you get into a bad situation you have the money for a top shelf lawyer. In todays world we can buy everything but if you brandish it like the couple in michigan did , you have a long legal battle to save your life which is precious.

They must of been there looking for the gun show loophole.o_O

You know with all the gun shows I have gone to over the years i have never been offered to buy a gun without the ffl paperwork. Truth is I wouldn't buy a gun without it. You surely don't want to buy a stolen gun.

Here in florida there is even a 3 day waiting period for long guns 3ven if you have a concealed weapons permit.

I stopped renting space at the gunshows, #1, because if you are a gunsmith people want you to work on all kinds of hopeless, cheap junk, #2, because there were always more unlicensed "collectors" with multiple tables of all different kind and types of firearms for sale, and they were selling no questions asked, #3, the unlicensed wanted the same as one licensee to another licensee, and they expected no sales tax, just like they had a tax permit but didn't. The scene was stacked against the licensee with a ligit business. That was 10yrs ago. I wonder if anything has changed. It 'soured' me on gunshows.

Went to a local show today, first one in my immediate area that I can recall. I was rummaging through a table today that had a lot of pieces and parts. Mostly 1911 slides and frames and internal parts. At the very end of the table was a box with the grip frame for a single action Ruger Super Blackhawk sticking out. I cleared away the junk piled on top of it and inside the box along with the grip frame was a 3 screw Blackhawk in 41 Mag partially disassembled, but appearing to be all there. The guy said make me an offer (he was clearing the estate of a recently deceased pistol smith), I offered $50.00 he countered with $100.00, I countered that with I'll meet you in the middle at $75.00. For $75.00 I became the new owner of a 3 screw Blackhawk with a mis-matched grip frame that needs a "bit' of TLC.

I went to a shop today that used to have a huge inventory, with full display and several more in the back to replace ones that sold. I think they had about 15 handguns on hand to sell, and half of those were in process of being sold. Wow

Almost 4,000,000 guns sold in June. My local dealer told me 90% were first time buyers. Now if I was a dealer, I would hand out an NRA application with each gun sold and while the buyer is filling out the application, I would urge them to join. The NRA has it's problems, and I am aware of the bad stuff but it still the protector of the 2nd Amendment.

In Florida 6 years ago there was no wait on long guns and no wait on handguns if you had your conceal carry.I had a shop there for ten years so I know that much, somebody might have steered you the wrong way.Right now I'm off to call a friend that's in Florida to see what happened.

Yep I was here back then. After they told me that I looked up the statute

3 day waiting and background check. Whichever is the longest.

That lawyer couple in St.Lewis are charged with felonious assault for brandishing an AR-15, and a pistol to ward off the protesting crowd who broke open a gate in a privet gated community. The Demonrat, St.Lewis black female prosecutor filed the charges and yesterday issued a warrant to confiscate the AR. The pistol is in possession of the couple’s lawyer. This couple in my opinion should not had pointed their guns at the protesters, but had reason to when before they retrieved their guns, the protesters initiated it by hollering “Were coming for you next”, with one of the protester holding two pistol mags, clicking together saying “Your next”. Are any off the protesters charged with felonious assault, NO ! This is all on video posted curtesy from one of the protester. Apparently, if white, you are not allowed to defend your property nor your life anymore.

The couple in Michigan should just had drove away, but screwed them selves by not leaving that ranting black woman who was in the wrong by starting the confrontation who must had felt emboldened to verbally accost the white couple do to all this BLM terrorist movement.

There is also the GOA (Gun Owners of America). From what I have been hearing about the GOA, they are getting a lot more accomplished then the NRA.

My best friend and his dad do gun shows here in Michigan. All the gun shows have been cancelled since the lock down, and no word on when they mite start up again.

Tallahassee is under a mandatory mask order. I would say it was 50/50 mask but social distancing no. The isles were packed. You could hardly get down them. Tables full of people filling out background check paperwork. People are buying not looking. And they know they will not be walking out the door with their new gun.

Lots of law enforcment there. Even the sheriff's department concealed carry class where they were doing the fingerprinting, background check and your photo was packed. No social distancing there. Of course this is north florida. Things as far as I know aren't really that bad here.
