I need some help please. I'm going down to Fort Worth for a wedding. I've been trying to assist a cousin that wants to get into shooting. It's a process. He bought an AR.:(;) It's a start. I'm looking for a range we can shoot on in the area that allows non members. I added an extra day to my trip so we'll be wanting to shoot next Monday, Memorial Day. I'd like some help from our Texas members. If you know of a range that will be open near the Addison area, let me know. Thanks in advance. Josh

Three options in my opinion...Elm Fork on Luna Rd in North Dallas, Fossil Pointe in Sanger (this would be my pick but not the closest) or Alpine in Fort Worth.

Good luck and enjoy the range trip.

Eagle gun range , 14400 midway , farmers branch . This is an indoor range , right next door to Addison . Ive never been there . There's targetmasters in garland on Jupiter road , indoor range also . It has a 50 yard for rifles. Two more options .

Many of the DFW ranges (Alpine and Elm Fork for sure) ban FMJ rifle ammo so keep that in mind. Best to call ahead.

You might try this range as it wouldn't be too far from Addison...

This was a regular hangout for my friends and I 10-15 years ago. I never had any issues then but they don't tolerate BS or reckless behavior so you will see mixed reviews. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I'll check the websites out. I'm trying to get him to shoot at 100 yards. I'll have the day to explain as much as I can about accuracy, guns, reloading and such. I think if I do it gently enough, I can steer him on to the right path to a good bolt gun set up. There's a 25 yard indoor range right across the street from his neighborhood. By my thinking, that's just a pistol range. We could just shoot pistols and still have fun but rifle would be better. Keep them coming. Thanks. Josh

Another option in North TX is the Frisco Gun Range. They have a 100 yd indoor rifle range. Great place to start...no wind but the benches are not built for Benchrest stability.

Gibson’s is normally closed on Mondays. I don’t know about Memorial Day. Definitely call ahead.
