Gun Mounted Camera

Have any of you used a palm sized video camera such as the Canon Vixia or similar unit as a gun rifle/shotgun mounted camera? If so, how well does it work? I know there are other options out there- I have the ATN Shot Trak myself, but wanted something with more zoom/lens capability.
