Gummed up Jewell Trigger

So I made a bit of a boo boo that has come back to bite me in the ass. A few months ago I noticed that the bolt release on my R-700, 30 BR was sticky. It would pull the bolt clean out of the action if I didnt pull down on the tab (button) on the trigger. So to rectify the problem i placed a few too many drops of case lube on the little plate that articulates and the problem seemed to be solved. That is until after a month or so of storage, the then lube went down into the trigger mechanism and is now gummy. Every time I cycle the bolt, the hammer drops like a slam fire. If I open the bolt, place the safety on, then close the bolt and press the safety off....it will function somewhat normally, but my great 6 ounce trigger breaks around 5 pounds. I have taken the trigger out and let it soak for 15 minutes in zippo lighter fluid, but the problem still exists.
My thought process now is to boil the trigger for a few minutes to really loosen up the now gummy crusted case lube, dry it really well and then rinse in the lighter fluid. Will boiling only make the problem worse. I have limited experience with 700 triggers. I have rebuilt 3, but have never tackled anything like a Jewel. Any help would be geat guys.

Jewell instructions tell you ...Only lube with lighter fluid...Rinse with lighter fluid allow to dry...Residue oil in fluid is all lube required..
If it fails at the range use Winchester degreaser in spray can to flood the mechanism to remove the trash...LT

Get a can of Brake Cleaner and use that first. It will cut the lube faster and cleaner. Then use an air hose and blow it dry. This will leave your trigger clean and bare and only takes about 30 seconds. The heavier lube usually attracts dirt and dust. Now take the lighter fluid and flush trigger thoroughly and let air dry.

I'd address the bolt release also, after cleaning. Lay a piece of 400 grit wet/dry sand paper on a flat surface, and polish it smooth to remove any burrs that may be holding it up. There may be a burr in the action recess too. You'll see a scratch develop after assembly, and working the bolt stop a few times.

I like a diamond stone in 1250 gr. for polishing, it keeps things flat,including the side plats that are bent from the punch press.....jim

I shoot in Percision Rifle(Sniper) Matches where the weather is always a factor, my match rifle is a Surgeon Action 260 with Jewel trigger set at 1lb, I simply clean it every 500 with a lighter fluid bath, in 7 years it has never given me a problem, but if you read over at Snipers Hide Jewels are a big no no, those guys are lazy, Jewels require maintenance, reworked Remington triggers don't.
