Guidelines on purchasing from classifieds

I have tried to find a set guideline on purchasing from classified section. Can anyone tell me when a post goes up for sale and is not marked listed on other sites who is first in line on purchase if not stated in ad?

Thanks for the information. Jeff

Review the highlighted "stickies" in the WTB section-3rd item from top will provide answers for you.

Don't post any comments in the classifieds as the "spineless mice" will get their "panties" in a knot.

Any add that is posted - listed elsewhere..... I drop like a bad habit.

Generally, priority should be given to early respondents.

But, as I have explained many times, and discussed in detail in Instructions to Buyers and Sellars, there is no contractual obligation to sell and ship until EVERY SINGLE MATERIAL DETAIL is resolved to the complete satisfaction of both buyer and seller. The means more than price. It includes shipping method, packing specs, insurance, risk of loss, method of payment, time of payment and so on. Furthermore, the seller retains the right to turn down a "I'll take it" response for any number of valid reasons.

Bottom line here, there is really no entitlement just by being first to post. That is a logical way to handle things most of the time, but the seller reserves to right to choose a later communication if something doesn't seem right with the first guy.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I think this helps a lot. Basically if your a seller on the classified section and you post several items and prices, you can trump an ill take it response and sell to whoever you want to. I realize details would take precedence , such as shipping and payment, but if the buyer has entered into an agreement to buy first he should be first.

Good shooting to all. Maybe this thread will help future buyers on site.
