Group Size

The reason I ask this is because I had a five round group size of .017 moa in a match a couple weeks age. I know there are some smaller.

i think the op is stating that this was just pure luck...my only question is why didnt you do .016 ;D

The match was at the Blue and Gray Rifle Pistol Club at the Guntersville Dam. It was more luck than any thing else because can't do that every day.

Sorry, I ment 0.17 MOA

Wow!! .17 center to center is, if my math is working, a mere .302 (outer edge of one hole to outer edge of its furthest neighbor) which is darn close to one hole or about .039 shy of one hole. That'd put me somewhere around 20th place in the match and there ain't no prizes for that :o
Kudos for a great day at the range

About a year ago my brother-in-law who builds our rifles shoot a 0.15 moa group. I have been after his record and came close a few times but no cigar.

That was .17 MOA?... so 0.34" at 200 yards. I've shot better than that with my 6PPC bench rest gun, but not by much; from prone (with a sling?) that's one hell of a group!

Tom Libby shot a 5-shot group at St. Louis that measured 0.086. I believe that is still the NBRSA record group for 200 yards. James

Here's a 220yd group I'm quite pleased with, shot off the ground with my 6br I put together out of bits. Just scrapes into the .1's, The grey disc is .5" across. We all get lucky sometimes.

Shoot enough groups and you're bound to have a 'burner' come up every now and then! Doing it 'on demand'.....is another thing!!
