Groundhogging Saturday.

Taken over 100 on this 1200 acre piece, so far getting a little more difficult as shots are way out there and the farmer shoots from his tractor every one he sees , never gets any but they become more wary.
Saw 10 got 2 missed one due to not having my sunshade on the scope. These 2 were taken at 212 , and 247 yards . The big boar was a classic directly in the left nostril, aiming for center of nose was off a hair at 247 yards. The nose shot gh's head and throat were the consistency of Jello.

I'm jealous. My number one farm this year offers me shooting to about 800 yds. Due to being planted in strips now that the corn is 10 ft tall and the shooting due to terrain is across the strips, it's not good this last month. Have fun.

I'm shooting in a 15 foot strip this weekend ,woods where they're dug in ,heading for the corn or beans where you can't see them, shooting is fast and difficult, some always stop and give a look before heading in to eat, they're pulling down ripening ears of field corn already.

Me too, one of my favorite tree lines is now obscured by a several rows of 8 to 10' high corn. I know at least 2 monster class hogs in that tree line. I plan to revisit late September when they harvest the corn.

Heading out Friday to another farm that just cut the hay field which is still visible from one vantage point. :) Going to the range on Thursday to practice off my sticks. ;);)

Good luck, remember only head shots count.

Then I am out of the competition. I am behind the shoulder shooter, preferably a crawler profile. Most of my error is lateral since I am shooting off cross sticks thus the crawler profile gives me the best chance of a humane shot.

Luck = opportunity meeting preparation. ;) But thanks for the best wishes. :)
