Groundhog loads for 8 twist

Barrel should be here in a few weeks. I've got 1000 CCI 450's, some Varget, 105 gr A-max's and 87 gr. V-max's.

Problem is none of my loading manuals have any 6mmBR data. Can anyone point me to some starting/max loads?

What are your thoughts on bullet selection? Did I do good or should I go a little lighter?

Try loading some Nosler 55 BT in that 8 twist. They do very well in my 8 twist iamd sure you'll get the same results.

Hodgdon has 6mmBR loads listed from the 55 grain Nosler ballistic tip up through the 107 grain Sierra. They're only from a 24" barrel with a 1:9" twist according to the manual though. Hodgdon's annual manual only runs about $10 or so and has thousands of loads, including pressure figures.

Their manual shows 107 Sierras at up to 2620 fps from max charges of Varget. Also 85 grain Speers at up to 3007 fps with max charges of Varget.

I've done a lot of varmint shooting with the larger 6mm Remington and have always been impressed with the accuracy and effect on target of Sierra's 75 grain hollowpoint loaded to about 3300 fps.

According to Hodgdon, the smaller 6mmBR can gin up 3200+ fps with that same bullet. No real difference between 3200 & 3300 fps that any groundhog is going to notice!
