Green mountain barrels

I have used one on my 50cal muzzle loader andit was great. I have looked at their 22 rim fire barrel blank and may order one.

My exact experience with a 50 cal muzzle loader, the grean mountian barrel made it from a 5" 100 yard rifle to under a 1" rifle.
Wayne.

I have cut and chambered several Green Mountain barrels in .223 and some 6mm cartridges and so far they are very good. They look very good through a bore scope, they arrive turned between centers, and they are stress relieved in a nitrogen oven.
They are manufactured in the same button barrel making process as all of the other button barrel makers since the technology has not changed in several decades. From what I have seen so far, they are on par with any of the other barrel makers.

I re-barreled a Ruger 10-22 for a friend w/ a Green mountain stnls. heavy varmint. It shoots quite well. (MUCH better than the orig. factory bbl) Machining & bore condition oozed quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Well I ordered two 27"030cal well see :-)

I have a gunsmith friend that recommends them to customers looking to save money when doing a build and they have always turned out really nice. Mostly hunters and casual sport shooters though so no competitors, I guess most of them would want to go straight to what they thought is best on the market not what will work. I use them when doing practice projects like making a 7mm08 M1A barrel and the like. Much less painful to find out something doesn't work on the cheap. My 6.5 Mauser sporter rifle has one and shoots most anything I have tried into an inch or less which is perfect for what it is for.

I have one of their bbls on a 17HM2 and it shoots pretty darn good. I wish my borescope allowed me to get a close up look at a 17 cal bbl :(
