A while back I picked up a Dandy Auto Trickler from the forums that was advertised as missing the battery cover which I didn’t consider to be a big deal if it functioned properly. Upon arrival I unpacked the unit and observed that the pointy tip of the trickler tube was bent to the point of completely curled backwards on itself. I contacted the seller who wasn’t super helpful, but I didn’t push the issue because the purchase price was so cheap.
Eventually I pulled out the Auto Trickler and straightened the tip best I could and used it to load a few rounds. After deciding that it was worth using, I looked up the website for Dandy Products and shot them an email enquiring about a replacement tube. I quickly received a response from a gentleman named Stan asking me to send it in for service and that he would make the repairs for $20. I replied and informed Stan that while the price was more than fair, I wasn’t really interested in sending the unit out and that I was confident that I could make the repairs if he would sell me the parts. Stan promptly replied once again and provided a phone number that he asked me to call.
When I called Stan he not only agreed to sell me the tube that I needed, but he also spoke at length and made sure that I knew how to perform the repair. He told Me that if I would mail a $20 bill, that he would send me the parts that I needed.
This afternoon I received the package from Stan. Not only did he send the parts that we discussed, he also added an assortment of replacement buttons and a spare circuit board. I looked at the box and over $5 of the $20 that I sent went to shipping cost. I think maybe I‘ll just send Stan a thank you note and a gift card.
