Great Organization Bins

I'm a driver for a building supply business, and awhile back during a major reset of the store, I was able to get a killer deal on these bins which are used for nuts, bolts, and "you name its". I scored around forty of them for five bucks each, and they are a perfect size for a lot of the stuff that we do.

Since I'm "nearly retired" I've got more time to putter an organize my stuff both in my reloading room, and in my shop. These things are gonna be the key to happiness for me. Even just these few bins in the pics have made a tremendous improvement in consolidating the scattered components and making them findable.

I'm just getting started, and have filled 5 of them. I expect to use fifteen or so to complete storage for my bullets, brass, dies, and small tools and accessories that fit comfortably in the drawers. The drawers are larger than they look, at 5.5 x 3.5 x 16 inches. I also have cross dividers to separate the drawers into smaller sections if desired. jd

My life, house, job, mind --- have very little origination, and I'm craving some. Might as well start with the reloading room. If it takes hold and becomes "a thing", I'll take it to the shop.

If this ogrination thing catches on, maybe my live will get squared away to the point where my wife can easily sell my stuff after I cross to the other side. jd

Scatter is exhausting to me. I find the search for something I need, and know that I own, to be one of THE most frustrating things that I encounter regularly. I go through cycles of organization, and scatter. Everyone has their own patterns. JDS, I love those bins that you landed for small parts. Smart that you grabbed them when you could. I enjoy the big HDX brand bins that HD sells. Heavy yellow lids and black tubs in a variety of sizes. They stack well without fear of it listing or giving up. Good for brass, etc. I’ve gotten better at creating inventory lists, and labeling things. All born out of frustration, and time lost searching. HF has the bins in the picture below. I’m not thrilled with buying from them, but with Enco getting gobbled up years ago, we consumers have more limited options.B105A7D8-3586-48E8-B57A-9840351568D9.jpeg

I think they're called Akro Bins?
Cheap knock-offs are a pain - the plastic moldings all warped out of square and stuff. Real ones are nice to work with though.

Wonder how many i would need for the coffee cans full of brass

Those are similar to what we used to store medications the hospital I worked at. We remodeled and I was able to grab a few sets of bins and really cringed when many dozens more went to the dumpster. I didn't have room for them then, but now I could really use them.....

I've gotta admit that I got kind of carried away. I wound up with about fifty of them. Gave a few to some friends, but I'ma kinda stingy with them until I see how many I'm gonna use.

You can screw them together vertically or horizontally also. jd
