Great group from a TC Encore

This is my first high quality barrel for the Encore. It is a used 19.5 inch Bullberry in 6BR. While trying to get some 87V-maxs to shoot better than a shotgun pattern I stumbled onto a load it really liked.

31.3gr Varget lit by a CCI 450 LAPUA Brass and a 70gr Nosler Match HP seated .005 off the lands.

This load grouped .228!!!! Not to bad for a gun that breaks in half with a flip of the trigger guard.

Did I ever mention I love the 6BR.

No, not yet. I have some more loaded from the same components and I break out the chronograph on a nice day and post the MV.

I have shot a buddy's 22br Virgin Valley quite a bit and it is an extreamly accurate gun. I love Encores, I shoot a twin to his in 6x284 and it is also a tack driver.. Have fun with it........

Badasp

I finally got my chrony back. Here are the results from the load shot in the original post.

Here are the results of that load;

2940FPS avg
19.95 ES
8.88 SD

Groups hover about .3

I purchased a 7mm-08 for my grandson and it won't hit the broad side of a barn. I have tried Winchester and Remington 140gr ammo with no groups under an 8 inch spread. Anyone have any suggestions or do I sell it and start over with a Browning?

I have been reading up on this rifle and a lot of people that attempt accuracy say that the forend has a lot to do with it, they say to keep the bags towards the rear of the forend close to the action and it helps a lot, I haven't been to the range since I learned this so I am anxious to try it myself. If your shooting off a bipod this could be the cure, good luck
