Great Day at Spickard Missouri 1000 yard IBS Shoot

Spent 1/2 day at Spickard and watched 1st 1/2 of competition. We saw some good groups and scores and enjoyed meeting Tom Jacobs and the other shooters that were there. Couldn't ask for a better bunch of guys or a nicer shooting range. We plan to go back and maybe bring our guns next time.
Best of luck to Tom and his new range!

It was a little windy at Spickard for the 600yd today. Still had fun though.

How many shooters for each day?

I was planning on coming, but the potential for bad weather keep me home.

I'm not sure about Saturday, I can't remember what Tom said but there were only 8 (i think) there Sunday. Wind was blowing around 30 mph right in your face but it sure was doing something funky to the bullets. Wish you would have made it ALF, I'd like to meet you in person. I didn't plan on making it to any of them until July but the rain let me get away. I didn't have my BR figured out yet but I still wanted to say I shot in the first one so I shot a 22-250 with 50 vmax at 600. LOL. I did manage to get 5 shots on both C and D targets though.

Hi Al,
we were not blessed in the weather department, the rain at least came in the dark, but made for a sloppy, cool overcast saturday for the 1000 yard match. We had 15 light gun and 9 heavys and 4 factorys, there was 2 more that came to shoot and sighted in friday but fell ill , and decided to not to shoot. With the bad weather we still had some fine shootin, Al carmichael shot a 4.255 for light gun small group and Todd soeby shot a 98 for heavy high score. The next day was clear but the wind was rough i would say it averaged 20mph in your face all day with hardley a let up, we lost several 1000 yard shooters from saturday and three more due to bad weather possibiltys on sunday morning, we ended up with 7 light guns, 4 heavys and 4 factorys. Mike Eshleman had a 3.33 agg in light and Todd soeby was the only one to keep them all on the paper in the heavys. Hopefully you will be able to make it to the next one.

Thanks to all that came, Tom

should have the results on the web page tomorrow

Glad to hear all the positives.

I've got all the match dates on the calender, we'll just have to see if there's going to be any conflicts.

Can't believe the almost canuck came down....... ;D

I believe that it is Canuck with a capital c. Cmon AL, show a little respect!! ;D

As far as the weekend, Tom is a top notch guy, and ran a great two days worth of matches. He was much more worried about how things were running than the compeditors were about it. He did a fantastic job for an experienced director, let alone his first weekend.

Now, if he can just do something about the wind!!

I hope to be back soon.

Tod
