The Ice Breaker Match Update: Grand Forks ND, 05/18/2013.

The day started off damp, overcast with a slight drizzle. Wind conditions were a dream for a while anyways.. 14 shooters showed up, which was good considering the forecast and the drizzle stopped for us shortly after scheduled starting time. The match went real well and without any major weather issues or snafus… Thanks to Match Director Mike Cobert, all remaining snow and ice was removed, one shovel and at time from the pits this Tuesday.. It was a great season opener & I got to admit, I am one proud Dad as both my daughters shot in their first approved match.. Please consider joining us at the Forks Rifle Club in Grand Forks ND for the Summer Sizzler on June 22nd..

Overall Match Winner: Justin Uhlir (xswanted) and Justin was just hot this day as he also won each individual match also…

Gotta share one of my favorite stories along that line... Just after our move here to Fargo in 05, a new coworker wanted to learn how to reload and we made plans for him to come over.. That evening at supper, the phone rings, I answered it, chatted and hung up. Wifey asks who it was, I said "Jim, he is coming over after supper for his reloading lesson." Both girls (ages 10 &12 at time) stopped eating, both gave me a goofy/disgusted look.. I said what? Sam asks "Whys Jim coming over to learn how to reload? Sarah says "Yeah, what kinda man doesnt know how to reload?" Sam says "yeah even we know how".........

Thats my girls..... ;D

The downside, Sarah is growing too fond of my Blue BAT and after seeing Brad's new rig, Sam now wants an Eliseo.....

With the girls shooting, I was "Team Lefse" Crew Chief... & I run outta rifles & scopes.... Thats my excuse for not shooting and am sticking to it... They would out shot me anyway.... ;D

Nice report Rod...congrats to all the winners, especially Sam and Sarah!! You obviously have them starting out right. I think it must be time to start another rifle build so we don't have to hear excuses about a shortage of equipment ;D. Hopefully some of us from ERSC will need to try and make it up for the shoot on the 22nd.
