Grand Fork ND - 8/09 "2-Man" Team Match (Pro/Am Concept)

Nodak7mm

Team Lefse
If your a newer shooter on the fence wanting to try F-Class, but just a tish apprehensive that you might look silly, Look no Further... Or if your an experienced shooter wanting to help out/mentor another shooter... Come and shoot the Forks Rifle Club "Luck of the Draw" match.

Basic format is to draw names for teams with specific intent to pair new/inexperienced shooters with experienced/season shooters and to have fun.

It will be a 3x20 @ 600yards non-registered/approved match. Match intent is to have fun. See attached program for specifics.

Rod, I love the concept. I have floated the idea about drawing teams from groups based on classifications, as an example, one from the High Master bucket, one master, two from the lower ranks. Shooters would get to meet new people, learn skills from the more experienced and have some fun.

2015, I guess.

Chris,
Sounds like fun, huh? Let's do it, maybe even have a rule that you have to own the rifle you shoot!

Not very nice Scott! Getting painted as we speak. Should be ready for 2015 I hope.

The draw team works well ! My old club used it for several years for 4-5 man team shooting to break up the winning teams. I always wanted the greenest group I could get so we could coordinate our efforts !! I have a major pile of trophies from them days. Fun way to shoot definitely with great satisfaction for the participants .

Shot the match, good guys helping the noobs throughout the event. Mike or Rod (Nodak7mm) may be along, to post results. Equipment ran from exotic to basic e.g. rear bag made from a sock and pinto beans.

As a noob, admittedly confused by the weird mirage and winds changing directions, invisibly (nothing showed on the flags). Not to mention the HUMIDITY… ugh.

The boys at the "Forks".....Mike and others put on another fun shoot. I hope all the new folks had fun and I believe that all of us learned a bit about those switchy winds. Can't remember the last time I shot that I went thru 3 complete switches in one 15 shot relay. Left to Right, Right to Left, back to Left to Right, throw in a bunch of mirage and boils....FUN!!!!! It was the pattern for the day and I'm sure the "pain and misery" was spread amongst all of us equally! Eric in DL
