The barrel was sold as New when I put the first round thru it the brass had ridge marks on the Shoulder Area, put my bore scope thru it and this is what I found ,need some professional opinions on this photo I took of the shoulder area to me it looks like bad reamer job that they didn't keep the chips cleaned out ? Would appreciate opinions on this matter
Thanks

Definetly galled metal, not a carbon ring. Probably had a metal chip caught between the reamer and the chamber surface? If it shoots ok for your intended use I would just chalk it up to experience. Could someone run a reamer in a few thou deeper to clean it up? After reaming a small amount you could probably still size it with standard dies? Ream it and fire it and send fired cases to have a custom die made. Strange how the edges of the damage are so well defined.

Looks like carbon to me. Hard to tell with no reference as to where it is, but if it's at the end of the case mouth before the free bore it's carbon. Not all hard carbon. Carbon and fouling that wasn't cleaned out.

Look at the rest of the barrel since you have a borescope. You'll find copper in there if it's been left this dirty. Also look at the gas port. It'll be easy to tell if it's been fired much at all.

I've found gunshows are like farm/estate auctions. Only way you'll get a good deal is if no one else wants it.

Easy to try a carbon remover like Boretech C4 or the like on a large patch soaked wrapped around a brush, stick it in there for a good long soak. See if any of it comes loose after it soaks turn the brush by hand and see what comes. You will know if it is a massive carbon ring or a shitty barrel. I do this process as a maintenance process to keep the dreaded ring away with ease. Worth a shot. Cannot hurt and won't cost a leg.
That is not a good thing to see in a bore scope for sure.

Sorry, reject. Seller should be ashamed of themselves.

Moral of the story, I would only buy a barrel from 1) a trusted source 2) someone I trust... you get the idea.
Sorry he did this to you. Hope you can track them down and get a refund.

Sorry you had bad luck, but that is exactly why I always have one of my Teslong scopes in my pocket at shows or shops. Don't take chances.

If you can NOT get, a Refund, you might, TRY,..
1) Carbon cleaner, THEN,..
2) JB's Slathered on, a Patch over, a Bronze Brush and "Spun" with, a Drill, in the THROAT AREA, Only.
3) Then, a couple of pushes of JB's, on Patch / Brush,..thru the Barrel,.. ONE Way Only, to "Blend/ smooth" then,..
4) Clean TWICE,.. thoroughly !!
Might solve "Some" of your Problems of "Roughness" in the Throat ??
Hopefully, the Barrel "Shoots,"... well !

Thanks guys for your input, I'll chalk it up for a bad experience and move on I will work at it to atleast get the carbon away the best I can and put the scope back in it

That is no carbon ring, no amount of polishing is getting that out.
Yeah - carbon doesn't dig a perfect channel like that - but it does look like there is carbon IN the channel. Two kinds of bad.... Looks like a crappy chambering job - then the gun was shot a lot afterwards.
