Met up with a long time friend of mine on Tuesday and Thursday for some early chuck hunting. Soybeans are just coming up in most places that we hunted and in the 4 leaf stage in one big field. Only a couple of hayfields cut so far so it was kinda slow hunting. I managed 6 chucks on each trip. Most of the shooting was relatively close range, so all mine were taken with a 17 Remington using 30gr Kindler golds. THAT is an awesome bullet, and a chuck's nightmare.
That being said I got one with it that was a 363yd hail mary before a fast approaching rain storm. Bang flop!
Got 3 others between 200 and 300yds. My partner got one that was 466yds on the first shot using a 6-250.
