Myself and four other friends all headed to Rayners (Toms a super nice guy) today to get in some long range shooting before it gets to cold. The weather was nice at about 47* but, the wind oh the wind. Shooting wasn't allowed at that 1000 so, the most we could shoot was 900.
Now looking one way to the 600-700+ was really pleasant (first photo)
but, moving to the other side facing the other ridge at 800-900 was bad haze\fog (second photo).
No matter how good the quality of spotting scope or scope we all had some issues at 900. Calling any adjustments for any misses was next to impossible. Yes, towards the top of the hill in the distance are steel at 900. You can almost see the 800 in the clear little area at the bottom of the hill/ridge.
Hey we had a fantastic time and all did well so, I will take so-so conditions over not shooting anytime.
Every time I am there it reminds me just how badly I want to move out in the country and buy a little slice of heaven on earth.
Have a fantastic Christmas everyone.
