No thanks, I read the introduction...and that was not realistic. A injured teacher takes up sniping against the one who harmed him.. the most elite soviet sniper and could change the tide of the war...past unrealistic, Pure Hollywood. Killing an elite sniper has never changed the tide of a war. Besides the real elite soviet snipers during WW2...were girls ...2000 girls 17 to 25 yrs old in sniper school...with very high kill counts...one 17 yr old girl 257 kills, another 309, and they killed the German elite snipers..but they too ended up ...dead. But still the war raged on...other girls took their place...they had a few guys too in 600 kills range...with standard military rifles and 1.5 X or 3X or 4X scopes. Girls, were the best, keen eyesight, coordination, and patience.
Many appear cute or quite attractive, smiling with their unassuming sniper rifles, equipped with tiny scopes...a harmless appearance...
but look at the medals on her chest, and the fact she has killed 257 German soldiers and snipers in combat...and there were 2000 more like her, some with even higher confirmed kill count. The innocent look, sweet smile, attractive appearance, this 17 yr old girl, looks like the perfect Saturday night date for a 19 ys old American boy... Reality...not a movie...I rarely relax in the fantasy of a movie , but prefer reading and real history are much more interesting & rewarding. Like the Founding Fathers were mostly educated teenagers and very young men in their 20s...not a bunch of old white guys...except for ol Franklin, and a few middle aged gentlemen.

I rented it at our local video store.
I fell asleep about half way through, I'm not to keen on subtitles, and was hoping for more action.

Hollywood, and its international counterparts, pretty much NEVER get gun stuff right. So if we're gonna enjoy anything in the genre, whether that be a classic western or a modern flick like one of the John Wick films, we gotta bring that "suspension of disbelief" thing.
I enjoyed Sniper: The White Raven and would recommend it to my shooting pals. Especially since decent films involving snipers or precision rifle craft are really rare.
Another recommendation would be the mini-series 1883. The prequel to Yellowstone, I found it much better than that modern disaster. But even 1883 has a few shake-your-head moments (like the rather improbable telescopic sight; or the friendliness of the Comanche hunting party and the white settlers... an oxymoron if there ever was one).
Now if we could get filmmakers to give us something on Simo Hayha and Carlos Hatchcock...

I have rabbit ears on my TV and sometimes flip on the A-Team just for kicks, it's hilarious how corny it is. Every episode has those chromed (or whatever that finish was called) folding stock mini-14's.
