Good rifle builder

Looking for a good rifle builder in Texas. Has anyone used mike bryant custom rifles or Jon trammel what do you think Thanks again

I owned a rifle built by Mike Bryant and have had exposure to quite a few others that he smithed. They all shot very well and never heard any complaints on him.

I've talked to him on the phone a few years back.... a perfect gentleman. WD

You are fortunate to live in a good part of the world and there are several good gunsmiths in and around Texas. Mike Bryant is up in the panhandle and does great work. I shoot F-Class with Richard King he is in the DFW area and builds some of the most accurate rifles in our game. Also in the DFW area you have Stick over at S&S Precision that builds fine rifles. If you want to wander a few miles north of the Red River you have Jon Beanland in Gould, Oklahoma. Jon has been building my rifles for a couple of years now and I couldn't ask for anything better.

Mike bryant was my first custom rifle builder and he was a pleasure to do business with even talking with me over the phone during the process on occasion when I called from overseas. The one rifle that no matter what I refuse to modify. I am ashamed to say however that I got pulled over once with the rifle in the back in NY state and the cop told me to put a trigger lock on it. Turns out I didn't have the key to the lock that I had at the time and had to cut the lock off leaving me with a few scars on the HS stock.

I just had a rifle put together by Mark Pharr in Round Rock just north of Austin. Great guy to deal with and the build turned out great.

Mike Luckett in the panhandle of Oklahoma builds some nice rigs...he specializes in the 22-243 but builds others as well

Add Mark Pharr - "Tumbleweed Custom Rifles" to that already impressive list.
Mark's located in Round Rock, TX north of Austin. I've had Don "Stick" Starks at S&S Precision has build several gun for me Mark Pharr has also put together a couple. They both do outstanding work.

Mike Bryant built a F-TR in .308 for me. I had an issue with it after completion (which was no fault of Mike's) and he stood behind his work and went above and beyond to make things right. This rifle shoots really well. Last two 600yd mid-range match scores were 590 and a 588. If I can do my part, I know this rifle will do its part. I just can't speak highly enough of Mike. All around good guy and a great smith.

I'll second that! Mike is great. I can't tell you how good he has been to me. BTW, the rifle he worked on for me (not a complete build) is the only "custom" hunting rifle I have. I love it and shoot it sparingly. I don't want to use it up.
