Chuck: It's a toss up between my Savage "J" series or my 16 short action. It will be a replacement stock. It was one of those "Got to have one" type deals! The difference between the 2 actions lenghts is less than 1/4" so I had Joel do a 3/4 cut on the inletting.
The back end is cut for the trigger and guard and the front end I will do when I decide. The front action screw will be pillar bedded so I have to punch a hole anyway. Make a cut for the recoil lug and put it together.
After it gets sanded it will go to the body shop for a "clear coat". I want those colors to really stand out. And I think the clear will not darken the wood. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Should be a good looking and fun project. Mike.

Where can i find info on the stocks and the differant colors that he offers . That is a good looking stock i really like it .:thumb:

That thread is not working to get in touch with joel do you a email adress or phone number, i would like to have a catalog from him or something where i could see the differant colors of laminate that he can use .
 
John: Joel doesn't have a catalog.,that I know of) He posted the different color blanks and stock styles on the thread at precisionlongrangehunter.com. I figured you could get a real good idea what he had available.

Believe it or not, the colors that he had available wern't exactily like I wanted. We got together and had a special blank put together in the colors that I wanted. How's that for service! Like JB and I both said, he'll treat you right!;) MIke.

You folks like fruit? How bout these apples!! Showed up today. Beautiful work. All the inletting is sharp as a razor and there won't be much in the way of sanding needed. This is one of the best stocks I have ever seen. A real class piece of work!
And like I said before, Joel Russo is the man that will take care of you! :D:thumb:
