Good hunting stock for bull barrel ?

Have a Savage 10 308 cal. with folding stock . Shoots great , love the pistol grip hold , but that hinge button that sticks up is wearing thin on me . It has popped me in the lip a couple times .
The stocks with the bedding blocks , do you think they do just as good as a bedding job ?
Want to get a good one piece hunting stock , what works good with out breaking the bank ? Thanks , Kenneth

They are decent but depends on how well they fit the action. Sometimes they shift depending on the model and quality of the stock. Bedded is always better as it cannot move once mated to a print of the action. For the money, it's tough to beat an aluminum bedded blocked stock of good quality.

image.jpg Thank you both for your responses . Looking at Eabco , H.S. And Widden it seems I could spend 250-500 for a stock .
Do you have something in mind ?
The Houge , Eabco offers , how does that rate ?
Not sure I want to go into the H.S. price range .
Action is 4.4 " , 20" barrel , rifle is ugly as mud , action looks good but I have no Idea what happened to the barrel . Looks like someone painted it ?
Shoots decent , need to switch out scope , have Sightron 4-12 S1 on it , eye relief and clarity isn't the best espeacially when you got to keep the lip in mind .
thanks Kenneth

Give the Choate stocks a look. I have a few varmint rifles that sport their Tactical stock and their design is well suited for prone/bipod work. If you don't find the weight objectionable for your hunting application, they are very sturdy and Savage actions shoot well in them (aluminum V-blocks).

X2. Heavy, ugly to some, work well. Can handle a 1.25" bull barrel. Cavities to add lead shot if you want to reduce recoil. Cheap.
