Gone in an hour??

I got a notice from Midway that they had 180 g Bergers in stock and when I went to the site an hour later, they were already sold out. Doesn't look like the shortage is ending to me.

Some folks seem to think this panic buying will settle down, I'm not so sure it's going to settle down until things change in Washington, if it ever does change.

I made a purchase of reloading components on the night of the election when I saw how that was going to go. Ordered bullets, primers, brass and powder from several suppliers, spent right at $5,000 dollars that night. I am very glad I did that.

I also thought that by this time 9 months later that components would start to become available at least in some way. Today I no longer feel that way and agree that there may need to be a change in administrations before things free up. However that election is in 2016 and with Hillary showing so well in the polls I have to wonder if we will ever have a chance to resupply ourselves again. I hope it doesn't work out that way but only time will tell...

The pace is definitely slowing down as my local wholesale retail place has lots of bullets, some powder and primers.

Definitely seeing downward changes in pricing on gunbroker and eBay.

Dillon reloader prices are finally dropping out of the stratosphere......

Our single supplier of powder/primers just charged me $34 for 12ozs of H4350. He cleaned out his reloading bench and that is the only thing I could find that was worthwhile. You think its bad down there, we have not seen a powder shipment for over a year. I don't know how do get a shipment to Juneau with hazmat charge and delivery through Alaska Marine Lines, which is the only why it can be shipped. Be thankful for the little bit you can find, cause I can't find squat. :-\

We have at least another few months to go.

A lot of you guys must have only been teenagers about five years ago and not aware of these same conditions back during Obama's first election......or perhaps you have just only recently entered the shooting sports. (?) But during that panic, it took over a year to see decent inventory return, and 1 1/2 years until full normalcy and a surplus returned. We can likely rely on these numbers....providing Obama and Holder will shut the hell up for awhile and not stir up some more fear.... and, providing no other mass murdering maniac makes the news in the interum.

Sure, the little corner neigborhood shop that caters mostly to the locals will start having some inventory improvements now 8 months later....but the big guys on the internet are another story.

I dunno about things improving. PVI, Graf's and Sinclair are OOS of just about everything. Locally, I haven't seen medium burn rate powder in stock since February. I started using 2000MR in lieu of Varget, but even it has disappeared.
