The explanation for the pole choices should be re-written like this.
1) Sling - Those coats sure look hot/uncomfortable and they are always talking about seeing the target. Requires hard work to understand the basics of rifle shooting. The ability to hold the rifle steady, establishing proper sight picture, adjusting iron sights for the wind, and squeezing off the shot takes time to master. These abilities define skill and are what makes an accomplished rifleman. It is why rifle shooting with a sling is in the Olympics.
2) F-Open - No one wants to spend 10 years learning how to shoot sling, I want instant success. You can quickly be in the shooting competition (using a check book) with little effort. You never get hot shooting in the summer cause U wear shorts and sandles. All of the custom made and polished gear makes me the envy of all my shooting friends and I can't wait to discuss bullet "diviation units" measured by my Junke sorting machine. Man, I love all this cool gear and one day hope to shoot benchrest!
3) FTR - This is the middle ground between Sling and F-Open. I can get into the shooting game with a minimum committent of gear and effort. It is easier than Sling shooting but more challenging than F-Open. I am shooting 223 and 308 just like the military snipers shoot. Neat eh? I really want to shoot F-Open some day if I can get the camo paint off my rifle and scope. Man, that F-Open gear is really cool. Shooting at 1000 yds is the bomb!
Heat up the key boards with all of that.![]()
