Golden Eagle ECR-1 15-60x52 / mirage?

How does this scope compare to others in mirage?

ty Don
Never had an issue with mine. I've also got a March HM 10-60x56. Parallax adjustment on the March is more sensitive than Vortex but it does offer a sharper picture, but it's twice the price. Having said that, I get through Australian summers just fine with the GE, the aperature ring they come with is effective also.

I have two of these scopes , and I shoot both rifles at Ben Avery year around with no issues . When the mirage starts getting severe , just power down . I've shot Nightforce and the Vortex in similar conditions and after adjusting both for clarity , I found the settings nearly identical .

You will get a 35mm objective reducer with the scope. I have used it and there is a minor improvement blocking out mirage.

Now as for the scope itself, it is no different than my Nightforce scopes with mirage. You can change focus out of the mirage, pick a happy medium in the moving target, reduce power, screw in the mirage reducer or just give up and shoot.

Just used mine in a test of a new barrel during heavy mirage at 600 yards. Tested four loads left over from another test and shot a 2" group in that mirage. There is nothing different from any other quality scope in dealing with mirage using a golden Eagle.

Now remember that optically it is kind of like a Nightforce BR scope with a tighter eyebox. No way is it like a Competition Nightforce. It is also half the price and solid mechanically. I give up nothing using it in 600 IBS competition.
