While the 6.5x284 did make marks in LR-BR, it has hardly been used for several years now and almost has went extinct. The primary reasons why being: 1/ lucky to get one season from a barrel, 2/ constant tuning needed to stay on top of the rapid throat advancement makes agg'ing with it difficult.

The 6.5x47 has set current records, and is a winning caliber, proving itself well. I consider it to be right with the 6Dasher and 300-WSM to raw accuracy and LR-BR capability.

Or so is how I've seen them play out....
