Go to loads for a 7.5X55 Swiss?

Yes, I am going to reload it rather than buy rounds all the time... Gives me something to do.

What is yall go to accuracy loads for those of you that shoot it?

I got the redding dies and some norma brass in...

I looked on the schmidt and ruben website that has a ton of info but their reloading data just has powder numbers, not brands... not good... 4350 can mean a few things...

It all depends on which rifle you are going to load for. I load for the K31. A lot of the loading manuals like the Sierra used the M1911 rifle which has a much longer throat than the K31. I have found that the suggested accuracy loads listed in the Sierra manual are spot on for the powder type and charge with the same bullet weights even though they may be of different brand. For 168 grs and lighter bullets IMR 4064 and heaver bullets IMR 4350.
To find your COAL take a case and full length size it and then with a hack saw etc. cut a line from the mouth of the case down to the start of the shoulder. Clean up the burrs and run it back through the size die to form the neck again. Just start the bullet you want to use in the case by hand enough so it does not fall out. Carefully place the case into the chamber and close the bolt. Carefully extract the case. The bullet will have been pushed back into the case when the ogive hit the lands. This is your too the lands measurement. I would seat the bullet 10 thousands off the lands to start with. You can pull that bullet out of your cut case by hand and use the bullet and with other bullets just run the case back into a die to size the neck again so it will hold a bullet snug.
This is my target load I use in all 4 of my K31s.
45 grs IMR 4064, Prvi case, Fed 210M Match primer, 155 gr Nosler Custom Comp bullet, COAL 2.880 This is VERY accurate.
Suggested powder loads from Sierra manual:
125 gr IMR 4064 43.3 grs
150/55 gr IMR 4064 45.0 grs
165/68 gr IMR 4064 43.9 grs
175/80 gr IMR 4350 45.8
Hope this helps you out.

Check the powder websites. Hodgdon and Alliant are my go-to info sites for data on their powders. The Nolser website also has good data.

I use both the Privi 168gr SMK copy as well as the 175 SMK. RL-17 is the same powder used in the GP-11 ammunition and if you go to Swiss Rifle and look diligently you will find near exact factory performance. Only problem is both the bullets I use are different lengths than the GP-11 175 gr bullet so some jiggery-pokery must be done to fit correctly in the magazine.

That is, in my K-31

thats interesting... i havent found any data though..

Go to swissrifles.com and then forums and start digging. There are a bunch of groupings that include loads for both the K-31 as well as the older rifles. I believe there is a group for RL-17 powder. But, it will take time and effort to find it!
