What’s the go-to freebore for the 140’s in a 6.5 Creedmoor, or the reamer

I never use factory ammo, strictly reloads

I was looking into this recently and it sounded like the 0.150" freebore was desirable. The SAAMI freebore is 0.199".

Depends on the bullet. With the 140 ELD-M you can use the SAAMI .199 without issue as it doesn't mind a jump. Factory ammo is jumping about .070" with the .199 so I wouldn't go shorter than the .150 if you go that route. Should get you .020" off with factory ammo.

I agree that around .150" is about right. The .199" saami freebore is too long in my opinion.

Depending on the bullet profile .169 to .199 seems the go to.
I use .169 and can run Berger or Hornady 140's with good results, the creed
is very forgiving you have to work hard to screw it up.

Just trying to figure out your post. Wasn’t sure if it was touching the lands at the .160 freebore or if that was the freebore you went with to be a certain amount off the lands.
I just sent the dummy round to JGS, my guess that was to the lands.
