Go/no-go gauges

About a year ago I bought a set of gauges for a 222 REM project that got side tracked. A couple of days back a friend who was doing the same project got all his parts together. So when we put it together with the go gauge everything was fine but when we checked it with the no-go gauge the bolt closed. So we started over and got the same results. Should the lengths of the two gauges be different? When I measured the two Forster gauges they are the same length. How do I determine which one is wrong?

Did you measure the headspace with a bump gauge? Most no-go gauges are about .004 longer than the GO. But you need a proper gauge to measure the headspace length.
