Go No Go For 6 BRA

If it is an actual Ackley chamber it should be a couple of thousandths tight on virgin brass.

Easily done with a 6BR go gauge. You can fit it with the go gauge while chambering. You can get the chrush when torking it down, if that's what you want.

OK, so .004 less than a go gauge. This said to equal 1 thread. Any guess how much a turn on a Rem. thread barrel is .004? Sounds like using a 6 br case might be better than go gauge. Pull extractor and ejector then close bolt tight on case. Am asking because I want to buy a prefit barrel to eliminate wait time from smith. I could set up dial indicator to measure. Maybe I’ll wait for smith. Thanks all

R700 is 16 tpi I believe, so one turn is 0.0625 inches, and 0.0625/0.004 = 1/15.625 turn for 0.004.

I am making it too complicated. I can measure .064 on barrel at recoil lug turn and tighten then check for tight fit of case. Can always be loosened or tightened. Thanks all. I have an idea what it feels like since I shoot a 243 Ackley. Cheers
