Glasses

I wear glasses and I have been looking for a way to deal with fogging, mist and other assorted crap that create issues with seeing my scope clearly. I've tried various forms of anti-fogging stuff and always found it wanting; they just don't measure up.

My dream would be to find something that is light, protects my eyes and prevents my glasses from fogging up. I shoot in south Texas and it gets a little warm and humid during the summer.

I came across something called Revision Military that sells eyewear for the military. One of their products is called Desert Locust Fan Goggle Essential Kit. These goggles have a built-in fan to help with fogging and you can even have an insert with your prescription. I like the idea of a built-in fan and the extra protection for my eyes and handsome face.

However, I thought I would ask here to see how other eyeglasses wearers deal with the issue or are you all cool as cucumbers and never have issues with your glasses?

I had problems with fogging on my regular prescription glasses until I purchased a pair of Randolph Edge glasses. They have the adjustable nose bridge that puts them in the right place so you aren't looking over them when prone. The only other glasses I know of with this option are Decots. I ordered prescription Trivex lenses for them and I am very happy with the purchase.

I think goggles would be very uncomfortable and you would still be looking over your prescription insert when prone. You might not even be able to see through them with your head tilted down.

I bought these on Danny Biggs recommendation after trying a bunch of other things. They work great but you need to get the optional nose piece that let sthem sit higher for prone. I'm not sure they sell prescription lenses but I had the same problems you're having and these have worked the best so far.

You won't be able to get a prescription lens for any glasses that are one solid lens. Putting prescription inserts under another lens is only going to make the fogging worse.

By the way, ESS are great protective glasses if you don't need a prescription or wear contacts underneath. They did fog much worse than my Randolphs though. I'm in Missouri and we have high temperature and high humidity in the Summer.

You could be right. Their website says an Rx insert is available but I'm not sure what that means. I don't need a prescription for distance.

I'm viewing the RandolphUSA web site and the Edge model does not seem to be for prescription glasses or have a precsription. On the other hand the Sporter RX model seems to be designed for a prescription insert. I have heard of Decots, and will check them out also.

You can take the Edge to a eye doctor and they will replace the lenses with a prescription lens. It isn't set up for an RX insert(which I would avoid like the plaque anyways). Decots are just as good. I would check both out and try to find someone local that carries them so you can get fitted properly. Let us know what you end up going with. I hope this has helped your search.

The Decot's work as advertised. Not the coolest-looking glasses available, but I guess we don't do this to impress the ladies...
