at $50 they are quite over priced... much like most things now days...
Kinda like china copying products that hard working americans worked out. But hey, its cheep.
Rant over.
How big of a part can you print, length and width wise ??
And have you tried any of the fiber impregnated spools ??
Have a look at the resin printers too - they can be a bit pricy, especially the resin itself, but the units will be easier for a "beginner" to use - no fuss with clogged heads, levelling, calibrating running out of filament halfway during a print etc etc - and in general, the resin printers will be better at the finer details - having said that, don't diss a knock-off Prusa - been using an Anet A8 for years now with excellent results - if you do decide on a filament printer and want to buy something that will have minimal learning curve, you can't easily beat the Ender range of printers. It depends on which model printer I buy. I'm still looking around. The one I'm looking at now does 220x220x250mm
I have zero experience with this, right now I'm just playing around seeing if it's worth the purchase. I have looked at those spools, but I'm not at the material selection part yet.
What hard working Americans? Yes, there are a few of them out there but almost half of them voted for a free lunch. How much would a 3d printer cost to make a 3d printer?
Sounds like an opportunity there. Especially if you get signed up for JOE'S newest deal on FREE 5G nueternet to download all the software. Maybe recycle plastic bags for use and get a big high five from algore.

I recommend the Prusa Mk3s KIT. That is what I bought. It has been consistently rated the top 3D printer. Building the Kit gives you an understanding of how it all works. Assembling the kit saves $250 vs buying complete. Prusa KitWell ... my lack of desire to pay $50 for a new shell holder has spawned a desire to buy a $500 3D printer and make one. I'm starting with learning Autodesk Fusion 360. This is proving to be a fun distraction. It's just for personal development, I'd never sell them. Heck, I'm not sure I'll pull the trigger on the printer. I'm just working through things.

My appology to you for my post in your thread. It did not sink in that you were
making this for yourself, nonetheless, it was bad behavior on my part to rant to you.
