Giraud or Henderson And Why

My requirements are primarily for ELR (Light and Heavy)...which one should I go for? What are the pros and cons of each? Especially looking for feedback from people who have tested/used both.

I absolutely LOVE my Henderson Precision Power Case Trimmer. It's easy to set up, the pilots and collets once configured stay consistent, it's fast to operate, and with thousands of cases through it, I couldn't imagine not owning one. Lots of Giraud fans out there, and my buddy has one that I've tried, but if you can lay out the cash, there's nothing better than a Henderson trimmer ... IMHO.

I have a Giraud and observed, recently, a Henderson unit. I wouldn't sell my Giraud and buy a Henderson. However, if I had not a Giraud and wanted a high end trimmer I would have no problem with the Henderson. Slightly...slightly slower than the Giraud but less fatiguing on the fingers.

I’ve had both. I couldn’t sell the Henderson fast enough. The Giraud gives a perfect chamfer every time. It also deburs perfectly and even every time . As far as the Henderson no matter how extreme I polished the mandrel it marred the inner neck. This is a known issue that’s been discussed here and on Snipershide at length. With the Henderson you are inserting a mandrel that’s spinning at high rpm into the case mouth/neck . While there is a collet holding the case. Marred inner necks and uneven chamfers are simply a biproduct of this design. After owning a Giraud for years . A machine that literally works perfectly . I was disappointed in the Henderson.

That is why I bought a Giraud. It checked all my boxes. The Henderson did not. I was not interested in any method that made contact with the inside of my case necks. My application is benchrest.
