Getting your BC

Nice! I am not sure though how critical it is to calibrate scope tracking down to the 5th digit when you eyeball measure the scope height distance above bore. But it is good to know how well your tracking works, or dosen't.

I built a special target to use for my 1000 yd shooter. I welded a horiz stand on a t-post where I can screw on the Garmin. A 6in plate will hang in front of the Garmin to protect it, and then I will shoot near misses to measure my actual downrange velocity to determine true bc of my bullet. I also want to try this to verify that nose ringing supposedly tightens up the bc spread. I am using Sierra 6mm 115 gr DTAC's, pointed and pointed/ringed.

I haven't been able to use it because I can't find a place with 1000yds in my zone that has a clear 25 yds behind the target for the Garmin to do its magic. Will have to wait until I am in Ariz this winter to try it out.
