Yeah, it took longer than I wanted, but custom rifles need custom sights...sometimes.WoW! that was a labor of love, lotta set-ups
Details man. ;-)
Oh you’re killing me!
I saw the 480 Ruger. Now we need ALL the details.
I really hoped that since Ruger stepped in and saved Marlin they would do a .480 lever gun.
A 16-18” should turn it into a handy bigbore rig with a bit more steam than a revolver.
Details man. ;-)
That is a nice rig. I am envious to say the least.I started with a new Model 1894, 44 mag.
Completely reworked the action to fit and cycle the 480 along with getting it butter smooth.
22" Pac-nor barrel that I contoured.
Converted the barrel band forend/mag tube to use an endcap and hanger
Reshaped and refinished the forend
Upgraded the recoil pad to a 1" NECG.

Thank you. The finger in the middle of the blade works as a cam lock against the elevation ramp. The spring is the sight base fingers that pulls everything down against the barrel. That is awesome! Very nice work.
What holds the long-range sight in its up and down positions? Is there a flat spring somewhere that I can't see?
That looks like it was a pain! What material did you use? D2?Nice. That is some real Gun Smithing.
You will probably agree that most machinist would rather work ok something large than itty bitty things that you can barely hold on too.
I had to make a special extractor for my ELR build to fit in the original Sako slot.
I don’t want to do it again![]()
I used a 3/8 cemented carbide tool shank. That looks like it was a pain! What material did you use? D2?
