Getting back into shooting. Would like afew scope recommendations

I'm nearing retirement and am looking forward to doing some target shooting at 1/2/300 yds. Planning to buy a Savage Model 12 .223 as an entry level rifle and would like a few recommendations for a scope. I'm on a limited budget, set by my wife :) ), so something reasonable to start with is what I'm looking for. Did many years of small bore as a Jr NRA member and thoroughly enjoyed shooting. The 'b52g' in my screen name is for the B52 I navigated on in the Air Force. Thanks in advance...al

For what my two cents is worth... Budget wise the Nikon Buckmasters series is a good scope. Also, I have had very good luck with Swift rifle scope. I have a Swift 8-32-50 that is very clear and sharp, that I only paid 250.00. just my opinion.

For people on a real budget, go to natchezss and get the Millett 6-25x56 for like $160 or so. Surprisingly good optics for the coin.

Weaver V24, nikon monarch 6-24, elite 4200 6-24, sightron sii 6-24, leupold varix III 6-20, I'd look for a used model such as these for target shooting out to 300yrds. I know you don't 'need' that much mag, but you can always turn a 6-24 down to 10, you can't turn a 3.5-10 up to 24.
