GBA 1000Yd Nationals August 28-29 Harry Jones Memorial Range, Fairview, WV. info...

mikegaiz

Stay frosty, my friend.
Reminder for Global Benchrest Association 1000-Yard USA Nationals:

Just a few things to note:

1. The Safety Meeting will be held at 8:15 am Saturday. Be sure you are at the range for this.

2. Gun Weigh-in for Light Gun, Tactical, and Factory classes will be held Friday 10 am to 5 pm and on Saturday morning from 7 am to 8 am. Be sure to weigh your rifle before the match begins.

3. We will take match registrations on Friday and until 8 am on Saturday.

We look forward to a great competition with our friends.

I really wish I could make this one, but it is not to be. I will miss My shooting friends and know great fun and shooting will be had by all. I will be able to make some of the matches later in the fall. Will be watching and anticipating great results.

Thanks…Jim Hoffman RR :)

Done. They said they would get the results out tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if not until tomorrow. Busy weekend for those guys and it was based on a 3 target agg so there were not individual day results, but cumulative.
I just wondered. I couldn’t make this trip due to back issues. Somehow IBS and WORLD OPEN folks were able to post pictures of score sheets or at least let the audience know what was happening.
Not like Gary Moore on ”I’ve Got A Secret”. As far as I can tell, nothing has been mentioned as to who won?

You can't give them a day???

I can give them all the time they need. In fact at this point Mike, they don‘t have to post anything.
i am just stating a fact that in every other organization, someone posted something that would let the masses know that there was a Nationals going on.
I don’t care at this point whether anything is posted.
Stay frosty, my friend.

From what I hear HJ is to be complemented for their contribution to the great prize table. Having an audiologist there is impressive. That would have been a plus especially for someone who has spent so much time around jet engines. These are all things that we can use to promote GBA. I wish that I could have been there.
I think most people would be more interested in who won rather than how long relay one lasted on day one.

So the $64,000 question is “Who Won”

Yep. I see some familiar faces holding Wood. I really would like to have made this shoot. Congratulations to all, I’m sure it was a great experience.

I wish I could tell you. I know a gentleman from Ridgway/Dubois PA. area, don't remember his name as I have not met him before, won Two-Gun overall and LG overall I think. Mississippi won 2nd in both of those same categories. I can't say more as it's been a long weekend and I don't want to put out misleading information and it will be posted eventually.

He is standing between JC and Mississippi if anyone knows his name. No doubt you will recognize some of the other winners with their plaques as well. (If this is in error I will correct it when officially posted)
GBA as a newer organization has lost an opportunity to showcase this event by having no timely updates on the shoot. By later today or tomorrow many with interest over the weekend will move on to other things and not bother to look. Big lost opportunity in my mind. But, once again the fact of the matter is, there is never enough help. So instead of blasting those who have worked to put the match together, the members who just showed up to shoot and have fun might ask themselves.....what might I have done? Congratulations to the winners and thanks to those who put the event together, who without, there would be no events.

RKS, for starters I was not pointing my post to you . If you can not see the opportunity to showcase your biggest event of the year I am not here to convince you. My point was two fold. Number one......would have great to make the event look first class including quick results. Number two.....would be great and easier to achieve number one if more would actually help put such an event on, you know, more boots on the ground. Other than that maybe at night course at the local community college on PR101. Oh, I will spell it out....PUBLIC RELATIONS.

Congrats Mr Ray Bellotti. Mighty fine shooting and well deserved. Hard work pays off! Big congrats to all the other winners!

Congrats Ray!!! Ray's a great guy and a Great shooter. Congratulations to all the winners... It was a good match and a good time.. Dan P

This past weekend Harry Jones hosted the 2021 GBA 1000 yard nationals. Outside of being crazy hot, and a 25 minute rain delay on Saturday, the match ran smooth as silk. For being in the midst of a components shortage, the turn out was Great! A total of 82 guns were brought to the line. 37 Light Guns, 28 Heavy Guns, 8 Factory, and 9 Tactical gun shooters. On behalf of Harry Jones, I would like to thank all the shooters who came out to shoot with us! Harry Jones would also like to thank all of the sponsors who helped fill our prize tables with a lot of great items! Also a special thanks to Protektor, who had a vendor table set up on site with plenty of inventory to sell! We also had an onsite audiologist who was making custom ear plugs! Lastly I personally would like to thank The many members of Harry Jones and the GBA, who worked behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to this past weekend to make sure this match ran without hiccup. From the guys in the pits, to the people working the score shed, your efforts did not go unnoticed!

Attached below are the results from this past weekend. Congrats to all the winners! look forward to seeing you all at the 600 Yard Nationals at the end of October at the Cavalier range in Virginia!
