gauge block

Looking for a reasonably priced *and size) gauge block.

Let me know if you have one you are willing to pass on.

Yes they do, however I am just looking for a singular block.
Was thinking about a rectangle block about 1 1/2 long or so

how about a little more info?

do you need it to wring to other gage blocks?

if not I should have left over pieces of 1.5 blanchard ground mold "windows" I wire EDMed
then band sawed ... maybe close to 1.5 x1 x 1

What is the purpose? Typically, you build your 1.5xx" stack with a precision set. Knowing the purpose may open up other options other than an actual gauge block. Just something general purpose...something can be made rather cheaply.

I would like something to check the accuracy of my mic's and calipers. I know there are different sizes to check different lengths,
A 3/4", 1", 1 1/2" or 2" x 1", 3/4" (or similar) block would be enough to put my mind at ease. I was thinking a rectangle block would provide a length, width and thickness measurement.

Your micrometers didn't come with standards?

I would suggest " space blocks" ... on ebay etc

a 36 piece set of 3/4 inch diameter "almost gage blocks" with 1/4-28
threaded holes can cost $50.00 +/- shipping included
these are a good low cost answer for maybe within a tenth or 2

one set can make stacks up to 3+ inches easy and of course you
can make add on pieces out of 3/4 round stock
just be careful to use undersize threaded rod so they don't misalign

calipers are maybe good for +/- .0005 so anything is more accurate

mikes read in tenths but it doesn't sound like that's your need

if you really plan to measure 1 tenth or better frequently expect to
spend more than $50.00

Thanks for all the advice. I can find what I want online ..... thought I could find one here from someone that had one to sell.

Still looking for someone here that may have on to sell.
