Garmin update question

I want to start off by saying currently my Garmin has no issues. The couple updates I have done has worked flawlessly. I keep it connected to my phone when in use . When a new update is available I always wait to install them after I see there isn’t any bugs.
Apparently one of the last updates there was an issue of missing shots so i disconnected the Bluetooth pairing with my phone which i understand has been fixed. Now when i turn it on or start a new session or resume a session i get the prompt saying would you like to update ? It’s really getting old. Is there anyway to get the update out of the Garmin or do i just need to update it and cross my fingers ? Thanks guys

What about just dont pair it with the phone when at the range? It cant access the internet without the phone app. When your shooting session is over then pair them and get your data. I would just update it. I've had no issues with mine.

If you connect the Garmin to your computer and you have Garmin Express installed, it will show your Garmin as a drive letter. You can open that drive, go to Garmin folder and delete the gupdate.gcd (going from memory and not 100% sure that is the exact filename) but if that file is present, then when you turn on the Xero, it will display the update dialog box. BUT, if you have your phone connected, it's just going to send the update back to the Xero again. For me personally, I update, that's why they are issued, the update either added a feature or fixed an issue.

I keep mine updated. I used it with the latest update yesterday and it worked just fine. No missed shots.

I suggest that you go ahead and let the Garmin update itself. There was an earlier issue, but Garmin fixed it in short order. How a company handles there inevitable hiccups speaks loudly of their integrity. Garmin got all over it and fixed it in short order. High marks in my opinion.

I have updated mine as have lots of people on the forum and at my gun club. The current version is working fine.
