Galling

hey guys. quick question. maybe not that simple tho.
if you are running a 4140 bolt, hardened to around 43 HRC in an action, for galling purposes only, which alloy would you go with: 416 or 17-4PH? Which combination galls less?
regards
mfg

If 17-4PH is hardened to at least RC38 (H1025), it is very unlikely to gall. In fact, as an action body, I doubt it is possible in normal use.
