Fx120 autothrow setup

Do you make each charge exact or is the .02 accuracy window good enough for ya? Can .02 be seen on the target at 1000 and out in a benchrest setup? Thanks Troy

I try to go "dead nuts" with it. Have not done a comparison to know......Good question though, i will be looking to see what others say.

Regards
Rick

With some powders, you can go "dead nuts" others have kernels to long to make that happen. In answer to your question, I allow .02 either way from my target number, but try and keep it to the high side. eg. 45.00 target weight but if the powder is to course to get it exactly I will settle for 45.02 instead of 44.98. I'm a sling shooter, so I'm sure it doesn't make one iota bit of difference, but in the interest of consistency it's what I do.
I hope this helps,

Lloyd

I don’t have a auto thrower setup yet, but as a benchrest shooter, if it’s bouncing on either side of your target number, I call it good. It’s only going to be a half to a full kernnel off. Right now I’m on Varget and H-4350. With Varget, I can usually hit the target number right on the money, However, H-4350 is a little bulkier so, it’s a little fussier. In my experience. Hard to tell any difference on the target.

Adam has a clip on the auto trickler website explaining in statistical terms why .02 grains makes no difference for sling shooters and f-class. Don't think he addressed benchrest but worth watching the clip.

I have watched it, just wondering if any of the better benchrest shooters can tell a difference on the target. I have a hard time letting a charge go that’s not dead on , curious if I’m wasting my time. Troy

I set it dead on, but some kernals of powder will end up throwing it up by .02 and I am not going to try cutting those in half.

I am a old drag racer and you element the veritable why settle for less then perfect. big john
Must run in the racers blood, I ran dragbikes in the late 80s to mid 90s. Blue bike, red/ black leathers.
