FX 120i Reliability

Has anyone had their scale fail requiring it to be sent back for warranty repair?

If so, how long did repair turn-around take?

Does anyone have any knowledge of failure rates on these scales?

The thought of having to live without one for an extended period of time is not good. I guess I've become addicted.

i hope you didnt sell your beam scale:) i havent heard of anyone needed repair on one.

I am just getting my feet wet with mine so I don't know the answers to your questions either but, if a guy had a second one on hand just in case, he would not have to worry so much about such things. In all seriousness though, I was considering a second charge master at one point just to speed things up a little but the FX 120 with a thrower and trickler is so fast, a second one is nowhere near needed. It would be nice to have the money for a spare set up but I sure don't have it. It will be interesting to hear from others though to see if anyone has experienced problems.

^^^^^^^What he said^^^^^^^^^^ But i do have a Parker tuned balance here that will always be here. The FX combo with the thrower and trickler has been a great up grade to my reloading room. There are some adjustments that may have to be done to the thrower from time to time but it is brain dead easy to do.

Regards
Rick

I still have the old beam scale. I reload high volume (varmint) and the special low price of $375 got me thinking about a spare given the scale is made in Japan and is sold in Canada. I'm concerned a repair could take a long time. The FX120i combined with Adam's goodies has me spoiled to the point I shudder thinking about having to go back to that old beam for even one lengthy reloading session.

ha we get spoiled easy dont we. i didnt know where the scale was made so its good to find out. i think A and D has a facility in CA. trevor from cambridge is on here and could probably give us an idea on repairs. it a good thought and id like to know to.

If I wasn't loading large volume it would not be a big deal but the thought of weighing charges manually for several thousand rounds with my old RCBS beam scale does not sound like something I want to do, ever. I spent 7 years full time racing Top Fuel Harleys all over the US and Canada and needless to say I had spares for everything on that bike and rig.

Since a few of you seem to be using the auto trickler set up with these scales, what is the largest load it can throw ? Will it throw 250 grains of reloader50 ? .. I'm currently using an RCBS, then dumping unto my Sartorius, and topping it off with a Dandy trickler..

You can get the Auto Trickler to work with Sartorius to I believe, have a look at Adams website.

never hurts to have a spare thats for sure. if you get one with the rebate now i imagine you could always get your money out of it. cynical guy that i am i wonder why the big rebate is happening? like mabie a new model coming out? the current one works plenty good for most people so shouldnt be a big deal.

Heck, San Jose is only 140 miles from me. Between hearing the reports of good reliability and knowing A&D is so close I don't think I'll bother with a spare
