full length size new brass?

i just bought new brass for the first time (nosler .22-250) just wondering if it is necessary to full length size never fired brass? is there any other prep steps i should do with never fired brass that typically is not done with fired brass?

You'll get advice both ways. Some guys are religious about it. (doing it)

I will necksize new brass if it has dents in the necks, otherwise, I don't do it at all.

Meow ;)

There was an article in Handloader magazine recently about this. The author made it sound like we were silly for thinking manufacturers don't know how to make brass to spec.

But I know I've bought new Remington brass that wouldn't pass my case guage until I resized it.

On the other hand I've had new Lapua brass that didn't need sizing.

I full length resize if for no other reason than to make sure
the neck is in alignment with the case body.

We recommend it, even if it doesn't involve much contact with the die. At the very least, ALL new brass sould be run through a neck die, just to ensure that things are nice and round after shipment, and that they all start off with the same neck tension.

Call it a little due diligence on the part of the handloader.
