We're lucky if not more than half the chips are chip dust on the bottom of the bag!Next time you open a brand new bag of potato chips, check the level inside. It usually looks like some cretin in the warehouse ate about half the bag, then sealed it back up. LOL. The label on the bag always has some statement such as, "some settling may have occurred during shipment". Settling, my a$$. They used a much bigger bag than necessary so as to make it look like more. It's a marketing ploy.
The same half full/half empty appearance is also true for powder jugs. A standard 1 lb jug is good to hold at least 1.3 lb or so; an 8 lb jug can actually hold well over 10 lb when filled to the top. I'm not really sure why they do it that way. It seems less likely to be a marketing ploy with powder, but who knows?

Depending where you live and your relationship with some stores, they may let you use certified scales to check things. Especially if you are a good customer.Funny comments yes if I had a scale I’d weight it. I was just curios and wanted to do a quick check with you guys.
