FTR - 185 Hybrids and Reamer

Hi,

I have a Kiff reamer on order .3415 neck and .168 freebore - the plan was to use it with the Berger 185 Jugger...but due to bullet shortages, I can only get the 185 Hybrids. The Hybrid looks to have a very short bearing surface so I am wondering if I the reamer freebore spec will be ok.

This setup is for use in a single shot FTR rifle.

Other threads suggest that this setup should be ok but I haven't been able to find anything definitive.

Thoughts/Experience?

TIA

I chambered my barrel with the 95 Palma reamer and I shoot the 168 Hybrids best .060 off the lands and I am testing the 185 Hybrids and so far they like .060 off the lands also. So with the shorter bearing surface you should have enough bullet still in the case.

Hope that helps.

They are in stock at Midway.

Call Powder Valley. They just shipped a bunch to me so they might have more.

What are you guys getting for to the lands measurement with these and .168 free bore? I just started turning necks on my brass to start load work with these bullets and that freebore. My chamber is so tight that my modified case won't chamber fully so I have no way to tell the distance. Virgin Lapua brass still drops right in though.

Thanks
