I never shot prone with it, but it must work great, as it always seems to be out of stock.

I bought it with the idea it would be as steady as my Hart rest for shooting prairie dogs off the portable bench w/o the weight of the Hart, which it is. But the stability comes with a price, as the width of the foot print narrows your ability of panning a dog town off the table, depending, of course, of the width of your table top. Makes you move your bench more often. Works perfect if you're shooting mostly in one direction, but then the ability, or lack there of, of spotting your shots is still there.

Worked great for long range off the bench with my 22:
