What is the best Windage Top available?

What is the best front bag?

Feel free to show pictures of your setup.

Dennis, I had every front rest made well almost. For 1000 yds. the best was and is the a modified Sinclair competition. Most mods. were very simple the only one that was tuff was making a new threaded rise that was tight in the primary rise and i used a Hart 1"wheel on it and threw away that stupid bearing. I put a stronger spring in the rear for windage and replaced the speed screw in the back with a 1/2 20 screw and added a set screw with a lead slug under it to add drag and take the play out of the threads. Now i have a solid rest that moves the same windage and elevation and with it i have set 5 IBS long range records so it does work……… jim

My point is the rest i use don't use a windage top, i went that direction for while and it don't work as well as the rest top set up i ended up with. I tried joy stick and other windage tops along joy stick rest none were good at 1000 yds……. jim

Joy stick is no good for 1k? Seriously, I was thinking about one.

Some people like them, but i don't see the need. If you have your gun tracking it will come back in the box or never need adjustment, so you only need a little movement. You need precise movement not ping pong around with a joy stick. I had two NEO'S ended up selling both and went back to my old rest. You may like them, but i have done a lot better with the Sinclair. I didn't like windage tops because of reaching back and forth and speed screws are vertical in the making. Short range it's a different story, score shooting and moving around the target they would shine……. jim

Thanks Jim, I was thinking joy stick..I looked at the Sinclair comps and there $599 and a Shade tree Jstick top is $399..Sinclair is a much better deal.

Ray, You shoot F class right? An other point is with the weight if you hit the stop too hard it doesn't move………. jim

Thanks Jim, I will check them out.

The problem I am having with my current set up is the forearm is popping out of the bag every time shooting a 6.5x47. I am looking for something to secure it a little better. I am using an Edgewood bag.

I am using the JAK rest that are sold on this Forum and several are using them. I love the setup except for the above. If it worked like it does with my BRX, I would be happier than ???? ???? ????.

Dennis, It doesn't sound like the bag, I think your rifle needs balanced,Is it torquing ? hopping in the air? something sounds wrong in your set up……. PM me so we can go over it……… jim

Twice the weight as my Hart, I think my upgrade to jstick will become a Sinclair comp :)
