Front Rest for Prone Shooting

I have started competing in 300 yard varmint shoots. Shots are fired at 5 different animal silhouettes from the prone position using either a bipod or a front rest. I intend to get a front rest, but I have a couple of questions.
How necessary of beneficial is a joystick top? It would probably help in transitioning between targets, but it might not be crucial.Perhaps the Sinclair Heavy Varmint BR Rest is a good option. Would the windage top be of great benefit?

I am surprised you have not had any help with this. Get something heavy for prone so the rest doesn't want to move around. I like the joy stick but there are benefits to all the top brands. Need windage adjustable for sure.

how far apart are the targets strung out? this may help you decided if you need the joystick or not.
if its only a few feet i can't see a joystick being needed yet still nice none the less. i know on my rest (no joystick) i can transition to the competitors target enough to crossfire. :( luckily it hasn't happened in a match ;D
