Front rest feet in Fl sand, how to deal with this ?

I'm shooting some 300yd F Class matches in Manatee Fl, I can not for the life of me figure out how to get my front rest stable on this ground. The feet sit on uneven pieces of sod, the sod sits on basically beach sand. 2" spikes do nothing. Cone feet just bounce off the sod grass like a trampoline. I think the only fix for this would be to remove the sod and replace it with only dirt or small rocks. Any ideas ???

Why doesn't the club have someone come in and roll the area to flatten it out some?

I have got ALL the answers to your dilemma Pat! Come to Texas and shoot at Bayou Rifles! Shoot 300, 600 and 1000 yards ALL YEAR LONG! Can it get any better???!!!

The ground gets very hard up in Wisconsin this time of year.....
Although you may need a taller bipod :)

OP...in sandy soil it is helpfull to make the feet out of the round / hemispherical tops that are on cyclone fence posts,,,,many simply place their adj bolts in these tops and pour lead around them to lock them in place,,,Roger

Roger thats a good idea, I think I will lift up 1 or two pcs of sod and go from there, oops I'd be breaking the rules. The sod is most of the problem,,its that springy root system they call grass in Florida.

That's what benches are for. Why are you laying on the ground in front of perfectly good benches?
Roughly the same time man invented the wheel he also invented shooting benches so you did not have to lay on the ground. ;)

Hey noload, John Perkins of 21st Century has some feet shaped like a twister that might stick into that terrain. Just might be the thing to penetrate the sod. They don't have the flat shelf like on other feet.

Hey noload ...I know what you can do!! Go to the pet store and buy two of the screw in dog chain retainers....when you shoot at Manatee...screw them in the ground on both sides of your rest and us a racket strap from one to the other acrossed your rest and tighten the crap out of the racket strap...that will stop it from moving!!!! :)

Guess who lol

I'm trying to change my approach....I read the book how to make friends and influence people!!!! LOL
BUT YES STOP WHINNING!!! Lol! :)

I have made round, flat disks for feet with 2" spikes through the middle. The spikes hold it in place and the disks stop it sinking.
