Front Rest Bag Fill Amount

I took these pics earlier while I was waiting for my daughter to get out of marching band practice. This front rest bag is filled with play sand with the random big particles filtered out. Does this look over filled to the point of being too firm? My rear bag is what you would call 'soft', so my understanding is my front bag should be somewhat firm.

I'm not competing, however, I do want to get the front bag filled in a way where I wont be fighting it in order to get decent tracking.

No, once you put it in the rest and work the rifle back and forth it should be close. Too soft the bag rolls and doesn’t seem to track well and too hard the bag pushes back. Ya gotta play with it a bit.
